Oakland Oasis

For the Oakland Oasis balcony redesign, my client envisioned a serene space where she could unwind with a glass of wine and her favorite book as the evening sets in. She preferred a minimalist aesthetic with just the right balance of comfort and style.

To add a touch of color and decoration without overwhelming the space, we opted for hardy geraniums, a popular choice in Oakland. These low-maintenance plants were perfect for my client, who often travels and needed something that could thrive with minimal care.

To address the gaps between the wooden slats on the balcony floor and provide additional comfort, we found an outdoor, waterproof area rug at Tuesday Morning. We also added a sun/moon hanging sculpture for a whimsical touch. With a table and chairs set from Big Lots, the balcony became a cozy retreat where my client could relax in style.

Lastly, to enhance privacy without sacrificing openness, my client installed faux bamboo/bush privacy panels along the balcony’s interior. These panels not only provided the desired privacy but also maintained the balcony’s inviting atmosphere.
